China has urged Kuwait to take effective measures to protect safety of Chinese institutions: spokesperson

BEIJING, July 31 (Xinhua) -- China has urged relevant departments of Kuwait to take effective measures to protect the safety of Chinese institutions, said a foreign ministry spokesperson after a Chinese company building in Kuwait was reportedly hit by a strike.

"According to verified information, no Chinese citizens were affected," spokesperson Mao Ning told a regular press briefing, adding that China has reminded Chinese citizens and institutions in Kuwait to strengthen risk awareness and safety precautions. ■
